Tempted to drop the $199 on the entire objc.io book series. They all look real good.
Just finished Creative Selection by Ken Kocienda. Really fantastic. If you’re interested in making products, Apple, or both, definitely read it. Ken narrates the audiobook himself and it’s does a great job. itunes.apple.com/us/book/c…
Why you should have Practice Hours as a developer – freeCodeCamp.org
I’m programming in my free time more since I got the iPad Pro than I have in a long time. Each day I take a chapter from the algorithms book I’m working on, load Books and Swift Playgrounds in split screen, and implement what I’m learning while sitting on the couch.
I’ve had trouble meditating in half lotus without my legs falling asleep, so I decided to try sitting seiza with a meditation bench. I bought two of these (office and home) and they’ve been great. www.amazon.com/gp/produc…
While still having a lot to figure out about my sleep, the one thing I’ve figured out is that however many hours I want, I need to add at least 90 minutes before that to get in bed. Waking up at 8 means being in bed by 10:30.
I’m still alive and I made it to California. Things are going great!
The fourteen months or so have been pretty crazy, but good, and I think it’s ending up in a place better than I could have imagined.
Where’s my Let’s Go Bulbasaur game? The fact him he’s Pokémon 001 just shows me sometimes you get it right the first time. Catching em all is cool, but really I’m mostly content after I get a Bulbasaur.
Last day in Seattle. Movers come tomorrow morning. Spending it in my pajamas watching YouTube reviews of Nickelodeon’s Doug.
Just signed the paperwork and made it official. As of the end of this month I will be moving to Cupertino to join the Reminders team at Apple!
I’m really trying to get my head around any explanation, even if it’s just pretense, against the idea that counting all of the votes as accurately as possible is what we would want to do in all cases. It makes no sense to me.
This is what my inbox in Mail looks like most of the time. I get visibly uncomfortable when I see an “8739” badge on someone else’s Mail icon.
Today has been a very tiring day, but it ended well ☺️
Twenty-four hours in I’m still loving the 40mm Watch size, but you definitely notice the battery life hit.
If you go to the help menu, PCalc comes with an ePub book explaining the app.
PCalc makes me want to get a lot better at math and also makes me think I need to read a tutorial on how to use it.
My meditation/shrine area has moved up to my office. Currently having a disagreement with Link on whether the cushion is for practicing zazen or is the best dog bed in the house. I guess it could be both?
Oak may be my new recommendation for a meditation app. It’s free, has nice guided options, doesn’t bury unguided, and I like the bells. I recommend “triple bronze bowl” to start and “bronze bowl” to end. itunes.apple.com/us/app/oa…
I’ve been extremely pumped to vote in the Nov 6 election for almost two years, and now it’s done. So that’s a thing.
Kind of thinking of getting another mechanical watch instead of a new Apple Watch. The health stuff is great, but I don’t love any of the faces, and it’s very costly for something that needs to be updated so often.
At the vet with Link to get a hurt toe checked out. Poor little guy.
